Data
Alongside the toolbox, I maintain a few datasets in my spare time.
Swedish job market
Job ads collected by web scraping, then cleaned and labelled by me, so they give an honest record of which data jobs actually appear in Sweden and how that changes over time.
Simulated population data
Starting from generalised statistics published by Swedish public services, I’m building a simple simulation that estimates fine-grained data from coarse totals. It isn’t finished yet.
Predictive & Analytics Datasets
These are predictive data set that I haven’t finished building so far, but I’d rather share them early.
Demographic & Consumer Market Forecast
A forecast of how the number of barnfamilj will change across Swedish municipalities in the coming years, and what these changes could mean for local housing, car sales, retail, education, and other consumer markets. Designed to help businesses identify future demand and market opportunities.
Small Business Growth Forecast
As AI reshapes the labour market, I believe the future of work may become increasingly decentralised, with smaller businesses and independent entrepreneurs playing a bigger role. I'm tracking newly registered businesses across Sweden to explore this shift and forecast how small business activity may evolve across industries and regions. The goal is to help businesses and decision-makers identify emerging trends and future market opportunities.
The raw data is public and free, but collecting, cleaning, labelling and maintaining it takes real time and effort. Right now, an automated workflow scrapes new data every week, and I store it locally.
I share small sample datasets for free(on kaggle and github), so anyone can explore or just play with the data. For people who need larger, cleaned and regularly updated datasets, I plan to offer paid data products on platforms like AWS Data Exchange.
If the data is useful to you, buying a dataset is the best way to support my work. It also keeps me motivated to keep it going.
I believe data will be one of the most valuable resources of the future. I hope that, over time, these small personal projects grow into a trustworthy source of data that others can learn from, build on and rely on.
I also write
In my spare time I also love writing. My blog,stockholm5pm on Substack, is where I write about everything big and small.
